Planning the Perfect Schedule For Your Reception

When you’re planning a wedding, party, or corporate event in Hampshire or Dorset, getting your schedule right can make a big difference. How Much Time Do Bands Need?
Arrival and Setup Time
Our bands usually arrive 90 minutes to 2 hours before their performance start time. This gives us plenty of time to load in gear, set up, and run a proper soundcheck. If your venue is tricky to access or you’ve booked a larger lineup, we may need a little more time—but we’ll always coordinate this with you in advance.
Pack Down and Departure
Once the final song has played, it takes about 45 minutes to an hour to pack down, depending on the venue layout. So if your band finishes at midnight, you can expect us to be clearing out by around 1am.
Things Don’t Always Go to Plan—and That’s Okay
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from performing at hundreds of weddings and events, it’s that timings shift. Speeches go on longer than expected, the cake gets cut late, the first dance is delayed—and sometimes the best moments happen because things didn’t stick rigidly to schedule.
That’s why our bands remain totally flexible. We can:
Delay our start time if your event is running behind
Shorten or extend sets if needed
Work around last-minute changes without stress
